A river runs through it
Nordic River is not a marketing concept. It is a place, a people, and a passion for making spirits that honestly reflect the land they come from. This is our story.
Nordic River was founded in 2020 in the stillness of a pandemic — and grew into one of Norway's most exciting craft spirits brands.
The distillery is housed in the historic mill building of Hunsfos Fabrikker in Vennesla — a former industrial landmark given new purpose. The Otra River runs alongside it, a constant reminder of the landscape that shapes everything we make. In summer, you can hear the water from the still room. In winter, the cold is sharp enough to feel in your lungs.
The philosophy is straightforward: use the finest ingredients, never rush the process, and let the product speak for itself. The botanicals are sourced with obsessive care. The batches are small by design. Every bottle leaves Hunsfos Fabrikker as something we are proud to put our name on.
Two Gold Medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition — the most rigorous blind tasting in the world — tell us we are on the right track. We intend to stay there.
